Logicalis UK Ltd formed in 1988 as
Logical Networks Ltd, a UK based networking integrator. In 1997
Datatec Limited acquired the business and embarked on a
globalisation strategy, acquiring more than 20 IT integration and
services companies across the world.
Logical was renamed Logicalis Ltd in
2003 and merged in the operations of Satelcom two years later, and
following a number of acquisitions, it became Logicalis Network
Solutions. A sister company was formed, Logicalis Computing
Solutions, to absorb and integrate several acquisitions including
Notability, Hawke, TBC and CSF. These acquisitions brought a range
of server, storage and application skills into the business
combining all aspects of the IBM hardware portfolio including
mainframe, and a deep relationship with HP. Once the integration of
the acquisitions was completed the businesses merged as Logicalis
UK Limited in 2007.
The acquisition of CSF included a
data centre with 10,000 square feet of existing space; Logicalis UK
successfully upgraded the plant infrastructure to benefit its
growing number of tenants with higher service levels. Building on
this experience Logicalis UK launched its second data centre, a
10,000 square feet high density data centre (HDDC) in 2010. The
Tier 3+ facility provides customers with made-to-measure hosted and
managed services to support hyper-virtualised computing, storage
and networking technologies, as well as Logicalis’ suite of hybrid
Cooperative Enterprise Cloud services.
The acquisitions all followed a
strategic pattern; to add new complementary products and services
rather than build volume in existing lines. Continuing this
approach Logicalis expanded its video and video managed services
business in early 2011 with the acquisition of Direct Visual
Limited, a Cisco (nee Tandberg) partner, and entered the Business
Analytics space shortly after when it acquired Inca Software, a
specialist in IBM Business Analytics application solutions. Through
these activities Logicalis UK has become one of the first UK system
integrators capable of delivering the full suite of next generation
business transformation tools; analytics, collaboration, and
Cloud.

and managed services provider with a breadth of knowledge and
expertise in communications and collaboration; Business Analytics;
Data Centre and Cloud services; and managed services, part of an
