In 2007, Direct Visual was selected as the supplier to JANET for
the provision of the next generation of network infrastructure and
videoconferencing studios to the Welsh Video Network, a consortium
of 34 Higher and Further Education institutes within Wales. This
£2.2m contract saw the upgrade of 44 studios to High Definition
systems with large screens and full colour interactive touch panel
control systems. As a part of the procurement, Direct Visual was
also awarded a Framework Agreement, in which any eligible UK public
sector organisation may purchase videoconferencing solutions,
without the requirement to Tender.
In summary, any UK Education or Research institution may
purchase through the framework due to their existing relationship
with JANET. Any UK public sector organisation with links into the
UK education and research community may also be eligible.

In Scotland, Direct Visual is an approved supplier of
