Creating ‘goal architectures’
must capture every possible requirement, to achieve a service that
can be built and operated cost-effectively and to all stakeholders’
services and service level requirements.
Goal architectures are about capturing
all and every connectivity and service requirement: number of
sites, site types and profiles, connectivity requirements,
available connectivity options, traffic profiles, sector community
requirements, security requirements or constraints.
The most successful approach to architectural
excellence and service success has been one of open dialogue,
between all user stakeholders and suppliers. A goal architecture
must be based on shared requirements, a deep knowledge of all
stakeholder needs, and bring together all existing infrastructures
and service demands.
The focus must be on required outcomes, both
from a commercial and technical perspective.
One of the key deliverables of creating the
goal architecture will be a Service Catalogue – the description of
available services, from connectivity options to service level
agreements. Logicalis believes that it will be a Service
Catalogue approach which drives uptake in services and simplifies
service adoption and delivery.
Logicalis has found that being an ICT
integrator, with no fixed infrastructure constraints or existing
networks from which we have to realise revenue, we can design goal
architectures that are more flexible, have more to offer in terms
of features and functions, and are more cost-effective to design,
build and operate.
