In the past, end customers have had to
allocate technical resource to the management of their Internet and
site-to-site connectivity, having procured this connectivity from a
network provider who is really only interested in the provision of
the circuits. The level of reporting has been limited, and being
one of many customers, getting priority when things go wrong can be
challenging.
Logicalis understands these challenges, and
believes operations and service delivery must bring improved
visibility of service performance, detailed level reporting and
proactive fault management, allowing technical resource to monitor
a high-performing service not worry about connectivity.
Aggregating service delivery will bring
service delivery and reporting aggregation and standardisation, but
individual organisations may need tailored service levels or
service reports, and where possible, a bespoke service, designed to
individual needs may be necessary.
Aggregation cannot mean dilution of service
levels or service reporting.
A PSN must be a service-led network, not a
network-led service, and we believe that providing better control,
visibility and flexibility than users enjoyed previously, with the
aggregated benefits that PSNs bring, is a vital component in a PSN
programme.
