Lecture Theatre
Direct Visual provides expertise in the design and
implementation of Telepresence enabled lecture theatres. The
correct Audio Visual and Visual Communications equipment can aid
instruction of the large audience and engage experts from beyond
the classroom. Facilitating cross campus communication and access
to external experts, we can enhance the teaching and learning
experience.
Distance Learning
At Direct Visual our motto is ‘move information not people'. We
can help to create and provide access to learning when the source
of information and the learners are separated by time or distance.
Whether it be to overcome a lecturer shortage, absent students or
to involve people from outside of the learning environment. Direct
Visual creates teaching and learning environments specifically to
serve the purpose of educating people where the teacher is not
necessarily in the same location. This attention to details has
allowed Direct Visual to build some of the largest educational
networks in the UK, such as the Welsh Video Network, University of
Highlands and Islands Millennium Institute and the Shropshire
County Council schools network.
Content Recording and Streaming
Content recording and streaming is becoming a crucial part of
the enhanced teaching methods. Just as YouTube is revolutionising
how people interact with each other visually, so learning
institutions can provide secure platforms to achieve the same ends.
Providing students with real time or delayed access to lectures
provides new ways of learning, empowering students to review
important subject matter at any time. Any student with access to a
PC that is unable to attend a lecture can still take part.
Furthermore, new technology in metadata, search and indexing, such
as automatic transcription ensures that management overheads in
maintaining such rich information is minimised.
Fieldwork
Sometimes the learning experience is considerably enhanced by
Field Work or involvement from “content providers”. In further and
