Wireless Networking

A wireless network does exactly what the name implies, it provides all the features and benefits of traditional LAN and WAN technologies without the limitations of wires or cables. Wireless LANs (WLANs) use a transmission medium just like traditional LANs. Instead of using twisted pair or fibre, WLANs use either infra red or radio frequencies (RF). RF is by far the most popular. A typical WLAN deployment would include Access Point, PC cards and some form of security device.
