The CRN Women in Channel Awards take place every year to shine a light on the IT leaders, influencers, exceptional employees and role models who will inspire the next generation. We’re extremely proud to have five of our wonderful women nominated. Meet Fran, who is nominated for the Marketing Employee of the Year award.
Name: Fran Battson
Job title: Marketing Coordinator
Nominated for: Marketing Employee of the Year
What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?
A typical day for me is catching up on any emails I have missed, making sure that all projects are keeping to the timeframe, checking our social channels, checking in with peers across the business and our vendor partners to plan for future campaigns. I am currently in the planning stages of our next big campaign to align with our new GTMs – watch this space!
What are your biggest professional challenges?
Most likely the same for the majority of those in marketing – budget, time in the day, data and generating leads. No surprises there!
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Trust your gut and believe in yourself. I am a big believer in everything happens for a reason, so just know that you will make the right choices, because every mistake is a lesson learned for the future.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Truly learn a new language. I studied French and German in secondary school, and I tried to teach myself some Italian in lockdown last year – however I have never kept up with any of them and only remember a few words, rather than whole sentences now!
What would be the first thing you would do if you won the lottery?
Knowing me, I would probably try to finish up any major projects at work first before I pack my bags and take all my friends and family to Walt Disney World – my favourite place in the world!
